Biography
Born in South Yorkshire, Jeffrey Portman graduated from Kensington and Chelsea College London, in 1993. During his studies he worked as an assistant to Christine bec and to the renowned milliner Philip Somerville (whose clients include the royal family and Joan Collins). He established Jeffrey Portman Millinery in 2000.
Jeffrey combines his passion for traditional millinery skills with a unique sense of directional fashion, to produce captivating collections that are immaculately executed and strikingly contemporary.
Jeffrey frequently collaborates with celebrated fashion designers, including Emilio Pucci, Richard Nicoll, Duro Olowu and Hannah Marshall. He has also completed commissions for major advertising campaigns by MAC, Victoria's Secret and Juicy Couture. His designs have often featured in such influential publications as Italian, British and Chinese VOGUE, Harper's Bazaar, Selfservice and I-D. Alongside this high-profile editoral work, Jeffrey's designs are worn by modern style icons such as Kate Moss, Kirsten Dunst, Mischa Barton, Susan Sarandon, Beth Ditto and Audrey Tatou.
